"I cracked the code!" - Debbie Bialer, Author

Potty Training Autistic Children, Potty Training and Autism, Deborah Bialer - Teach Toileting For many years, Debbie has taken a special interest in toilet training children with special needs. Parents began to call her for private consultations to help with their particular potty training challenges. Each individual situation gave Debbie the opportunity to learn and build upon her knowledge of toilet training autistic and other special needs children. Over time, Debbie "cracked the code" and developed and perfected her own potty training techniques and recently published them in “Teach Toileting: A Revolutionary Approach for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Special Needs”.

"Potty training a child with autism or other special needs presents parents, teachers and child care professionals with a formidable challenge. Unresolved toileting issues often exacerbate the developmental barriers and difficulties faced by children with autism. Despite the innumerable resources on toilet training children in general, I was motivated to write my book for parents who were overwhelmed, frustrated and desperate to learn and use an effective approach to potty training an autistic child."

"Teach Toileting not only departs from the standard toileting strategies and methods recommended for the typically developing child. My method "cracks the code," offering an extraordinarily successful alternative to other potty training tips, guidebooks and interventions specifically aimed at children with Autism, Fragile X and related spectrum disorders. The toilet training information and advice I offer to parents of children with special needs has produced remarkable results in facilitating the mastery of this fundamental social skill and life task. My goal was to provide parents, caregivers and educators with a effective step-by step model for teaching autistic children to achieve bladder and bowel control. My greatest gratification has come from the validation and endorsement I’ve received from families who successfully conquered the seemingly insurmountable toileting challenges faced by an autistic or special needs child."
